LièGin Mer du Nord BIO

LièGin combines fucus seaweed with thyme, sage and rosemary in this organic gin inspired by the North Sea. The Belgian house presents Mer du Nord as a herb-driven, citrus-accented gin built on a classic juniper structure, with the seaweed adding a marine element that the rest of the LièGin range, from the fruit-led Original to the beer-based Val-Dieu, does not have.

The herbs set the backbone. Thyme and sage create a dry, aromatic base, rosemary reinforces the Mediterranean herbal register, and citrus brings freshness and lift. Fucus is the coastal signature. On the nose, juniper and bright citrus open, followed by a clear herbal layer led by thyme and rosemary. In the background, a faint marine impression appears as a mineral, slightly briny note.

On the palate the profile is structured and dry, juniper and herbs leading while the citrus keeps the middle fresh, and the seaweed extends the finish with a light maritime touch. The texture is clean and moderately weighted, and at 40% the finish stays dry and persistent, with herbs, citrus zest and a discreet coastal echo.
