Agapé Garrigue Description

Agapé Garrigue is a Belgian London Dry Gin produced by the Agapé brand and inspired by the landscapes and aromatic plants of the Mediterranean garrigue. Although distilled in Belgium, its identity is deeply rooted in the wild, sun-drenched vegetation of southern France, where rosemary, thyme and other low shrubs grow on dry, mineral-rich soils. These emblematic herbs, combined with classic juniper, lemon zest, fennel and olive, form the botanical heart of this expression.

On the nose, the profile is immediately herbaceous and evocative of warm, dry hills. Juniper provides a clean, resinous backbone, quickly joined by expressive notes of rosemary and thyme. Bright citrus oils from lemon zest lift the aromatic intensity, while fennel adds gentle anise and sweetness. In the background, a subtle savory and slightly briny nuance from the olive introduces an original, unmistakable Mediterranean signature.

On the palate, the gin is dry, structured and precise, in line with the London Dry style. Juniper remains central, framed by persistent herbal flavors. Rosemary and thyme deliver green, slightly piney and sun-warmed notes, balanced by the freshness of citrus peel. Fennel contributes roundness with light aniseed tones, and the olive brings a discreet earthy and faintly saline dimension that enhances complexity without overpowering the balance. The texture is clean and firm, leading to a long, dry finish dominated by herbs, lemon peel and a gentle mineral impression.

All botanicals are distilled together with no flavoring added after distillation, in accordance with London Dry Gin production rules. Agapé Garrigue is particularly well suited to a classic gin and tonic served with a neutral or lightly bitter tonic water, garnished with a sprig of rosemary or a strip of lemon peel. It also performs very well in dry, herb-forward cocktails such as a Martini or a Gin Sour, where its Mediterranean character can fully express itself.

Singeing the rosemary sprig intensifies its aroma, harmonizing with the gin's herbal character. Using a single large ice cube minimizes dilution, preserving the gin's bold flavors.

Instructions

In a highball glass, place a large, clear ice cube to maintain the drink's integrity without diluting its robust 42.4% ABV.

Pour 5 cl of Agapé Garrigue Gin over the ice, allowing its herbal and citrus notes to unfold.

Top with 15 cl of Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water, chosen for its delicate herbal nuances that complement the gin's rosemary and thyme botanicals.

Gently stir to integrate.

Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary, lightly singed to release its aromatic oils, and a thin slice of lemon zest to enhance the citrus profile.

For alternative pairings, consider East Imperial Burma Tonic Water, Le Tribute Tonic Water, or Fentimans Herbal Tonic Water.
