KI NO TEA Description

KI NO TEA is a Japanese gin produced by The Kyoto Distillery in collaboration with Hori-Shichimeien, a traditional Uji tea producer. It features botanicals such as gyokuro and sencha teas, yuzu, lemon, ginger, red shiso, sansho pepper and juniper. Distilled with a rice spirit base and Kyoto groundwater, it offers herbal and floral notes with a green tea character.

Using a single large ice cube minimizes dilution, preserving the gin's nuanced flavors. The cucumber garnish introduces a fresh aroma that harmonizes with the gin's herbal and citrus elements.

Instructions

In a chilled highball glass, place a large, clear ice cube to maintain the integrity of the drink without excessive dilution.

Pour 5 cl of KI NO TEA gin over the ice, allowing its delicate green tea and yuzu notes to emerge.

Gently add 15 cl of Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic Water, chosen for its subtle floral sweetness that complements the gin's herbal and citrus profile.

Stir softly to integrate the flavors.

Garnish with a thin slice of fresh cucumber, adding a crisp, refreshing aroma that enhances the gin's botanical complexity.

For alternative pairings, consider East Imperial Yuzu Tonic or Fentimans Oriental Yuzu Tonic Water.
