Bombay Citron Presse Description

Bombay Citron Presse is a lemon-flavoured gin built on the Bombay Sapphire house style. It is bottled at 37.5% ABV and takes its inspiration from the Tom Collins, the long drink in which gin and lemon meet sparkling refreshment. The brand uses an infusion of Mediterranean lemons picked early in the season, then peeled by hand, alongside its gin base. No sugar is added.

The first impression is unmistakably lemon, but it is shaped as citrus peel rather than confectionery. Bright zest and juice-like freshness sit alongside juniper, giving the gin a clean, dry line through the middle. The lemon character has enough bitterness to remain crisp when it is lengthened.

The palate is direct and lively. Citrus opens the glass, juniper provides the botanical anchor, and the finish stays brisk rather than sweet. This makes Citron Presse useful beyond a flavoured-gin serve: it can bring lemon definition to a Collins, a highball or a straightforward gin and tonic.

For a simple serve, build it over abundant ice with Fever-Tree Sicilian Lemon Tonic and finish with a modest lemon wedge. The chilled tonic underlines the citrus without crowding the gin. A short stir is enough; the aim is a bright, clean glass with a dry lemon finish.

Citron Presse is especially convincing when the glass is allowed a few moments to open. Ice softens the alcohol, tonic releases peel-like bitterness, and lemon moves from a sharp opening to a rounder finish. It is made for drinkers who enjoy lemon as a true ingredient, with zest, freshness and a dry edge rather than a sweet flavour.
