Orange TwistSilent Pool Gin is a 43% ABV English gin named after the spring-fed pool near the distillery in the Surrey Hills. Its recipe uses more than twenty-four botanicals, combining familiar gin ingredients with flowers, citrus and a small contribution of local honey. The broad recipe is arranged around juniper, so the gin remains clear in style despite its many layers.
Lavender, chamomile and rose bring a floral lift that is calm rather than perfumed. Orange, lime and bergamot provide citrus brightness, while coriander and cardamom give the aromatics definition. Vetiver adds an earthier, root-like note in the background, helping the florals and citrus feel connected rather than separate.
The palate is rounded by the touch of honey, but it does not read as a sweet gin. Juniper, citrus peel and spice keep the middle of the mouth fresh and structured. The finish moves through floral detail, cardamom and a light botanical dryness, with enough depth to make the gin interesting even before a mixer is added.
Silent Pool recommends serving the gin with premium Indian tonic over ice and finishing with bergamot or orange. Citrus is a natural choice because it brightens the recipe while leaving the floral elements in view. A restrained garnish matters here: one carefully cut peel is more effective than a crowded glass.
The appeal of Silent Pool Gin lies in its controlled layering. Flowers, citrus, spice, roots and honey all contribute, but the glass stays composed and recognisably gin-led from the first nose to the final dry note.
